Also, if you attack, you can probably deal enough to take out a wolf on a decent hit (+3 rage, +4 or +5 strength, +4.5 or +5.5 weapon), with reckless attacks and good damage rolls, attacking might pan out. With rage you can take a few rounds of hits. Level 9: Around 77 HP, but no better abilities. Fighting the wolves isn't going to pan out. Probably still best to let the team knock out concentration. Their trip will likely keep you pinned down with opportunity attacks though. Shoving with reckless attack might let you escape the pack if you can get to the druid to use your second attack to try to break concentration or move to a better position where you can't be surrounded.

You can still tank with dodge, but it depends on scenario design if that's the best option.

You can take a round of average hits with rage up, two rounds if you're lucky. Level 5: 45 HP, fast movement, extra attack. There's no winning move attacking or moving in this scenario. You can tank a few rounds while your party deals with it. Dodging negates advantage dropping the damage to 25. You're the meat shield and you're currently soaking up the higher level druids concentration, leaving the rest of your party to take them on with just the druids cantrip- and break concentration for you. So what is your strategy? Rage and Dodge. That means with their advantage, they are dealing around 39 damage to you a round so one round kill. Level 3: You've probably got around 30 HP and 14-18 AC (let's say 16 AC). So 11 HP, 13 AC, +4 to hit for 2d4+2, and they give each other advantage. Let's assume it's 8 wolves since you mentioned pack tactics (I think it's actually elk that are the most dangerous with the charge for extra damage, knock prone to give each other advantage one-two), summoned to completely surround the character. So how does your Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, or Rogue respond.

At least it's 5th level.Īs to what you can do, as others said target the druid, but if the druid is smart they cast this and then hid behind a tree so that's not an option. Ten attacks with +8 to hit for an average of 6.5 on a hit and 200 HP to work through if you don't have AOE. You get the same thing with animate objects. So any tricks in mitigating the damage these type of spells can do? But what to do if you do not have spells or none are aoe? Having an AOE spell emanating from you is the best way to get rid of the horde nibbling you to death so at least its just one round of damage.

But if you can't reach AC 19+ what other option you have?īlur won't work because you will drop concentration before the horde of beast is done with you unless your Fort save is phenomenal.ĭamage resistance would work but don't see how to get it at these levels. Wizard with mage armor and shield and decent dex will be hit 3-4 times, each round. High ac might help but it would need to be really high:many beast in that spell have pack tactics, so +4to hit with advantage.

What can the pc do if they are fighting a bunch of evil corrupted druids and they have conjure animals.Īt l3 spells, one poor pc is looking at around 8d4+16 damage if he can't somehow mitigates it.

If you know a nasty combo with other conjure/summon please add it to the conversation.īut mostly let's turn the table. Not sure how similar conjure spells do, but I have a feeling that one is the worse. This came about after seeing in last session how much guaranteed damage conjure animals was doing.
